Wellness Mobile App for Gamified Fitness Tracking
Stepler is a wellness mobile app that turns physical activity into rewards. By converting daily steps into points redeemable for products and discounts, the platform motivates users to maintain a healthy lifestyle while fostering consistent engagement. The client partnered with us to improve system scalability, UX performance, and gamification features for a growing international audience.
Stepler faced engagement fluctuations and system slowdowns during high traffic periods. The main challenge was to improve step synchronization accuracy, enhance reward logic, and ensure stable backend performance for millions of concurrent users.
We rebuilt the mobile app with Flutter to achieve full cross-platform consistency and developed a highly scalable backend in Node.js with Firebase. Real-time synchronization with Apple Health and Google Fit was implemented alongside social leaderboards, notifications, and a referral reward system. The infrastructure was migrated to AWS to support rapid user growth.
Stepler became one of Europe’s top wellness apps by combining health data, gamification, and rewards into a scalable digital ecosystem.
